| Credit Card Fraud
Prevention
Here is a great example of an order that was destined for a chargeback. This was a real
order from my Internet Store. The credit card passed the AVS test for address and zip. Looking at the payment gateway, which is Verisign, this order looks normal and was approved. However these red flags warned me not to ship:
Red Flags:
1) The "Ship To" and the "Bill To" are different. I always call the credit card owner when I see this combination.
2) The email address doesn't appear to match either the "Ship To" or "Bill
To" address.
3) They are ordering 5 of the same items but there is no "Company Name."
4) When calling the "Bill To" phone number it was disconnected.
5) When calling the "Ship To" phone number I got an answering machine.
6) I emailed the client - no response after 24 hours.
